Our roadmap is focused on expanding capacity, integrating advanced technologies and strengthening regulatory excellence – all to better support our clients within the evolving landscape of aseptic manufacturing.
Phase 1
2024 – 2026
Expanding Capacity and Enhancing Technology
Key Initiatives
- New Filling Line: We are installing a state-of-the-art vial, syringe and cartridge filling line within an isolator system to enhance sterility assurance and increase production throughput.
- Broader Product Formats: Expanding beyond vials into pre-filled syringes and cartridges to better support a wider range of sterile injectable formulations.
- Advanced Aseptic Processing: Investing in next-generation equipment and improved contamination control to strengthen environmental monitoring and product quality.

These early-stage investments position Afton to meet increasing demand while maintaining flexibility and quality. By adopting more advanced equipment and processes, we are strengthening our ability to support clients with high-quality, compliant and scalable solutions.
Phase 2
2026-2029
Developing a New State-of-the-Art Facility
As demand for sterile injectables continues to grow, Afton will establish a large-scale manufacturing facility designed to:
- Increase production capacity – Accommodating six to eight new clinical and commercial filling lines.
- Introduce additional capabilities – Supporting biologics and sensitive drug formulations requiring extended stability.
- Expand formulation and analytical services – Strengthening stability studies, validation programmes and early-stage drug development support.
This expansion will position Afton as a leading provider of sterile manufacturing solutions, enabling the company to manage complex production requirements while maintaining the highest standards of quality.

The Future of Afton Scientific
Following the establishment of additional facilities and production lines, we will focus on advanced manufacturing approaches and emerging therapies. We aim to strengthen supply chain resilience and adopt more sustainable practices, ensuring our operations remain efficient, responsible and robust.
We also intend to develop strategic partnerships with biotechnology and pharmaceutical innovators, enabling us to remain at the forefront of scientific progress and deliver advanced aseptic manufacturing solutions.
Workforce Expansion and Talent Development
Afton’s growth is not solely focused on infrastructure, it is equally centred on people.
Over the coming years, we plan to recruit more than 200 new team members, bringing expertise in formulation development, advanced manufacturing technologies and regulatory compliance. We will invest in comprehensive training programmes to strengthen regulatory knowledge and further refine our processes. Above all, we remain committed to a client-focused culture that supports personalised service and encourages ongoing collaboration with our clients.
